Alan is can deliver blocks of significant (usable) functionality every 2 to 3 weeks with payments being made when delivery of larger blocks (significant parts of systems) meet customer acceptance tests.
Instead of paying for hours, pay for results, with the bulk of your payments based on delivery according to the software meeting your acceptance criteria.
The percentage that is paid as a retainer, and the percentage that is paid upon delivery is entirely negotiable.
